we've been using that guy in wyoming to predict our landing site. he uses a relatively low ascent and descent rate. i found a program that has more flexibility. not too user friendly, but i got some promising data out of it. i landed a few balloons just shy of the chesapeake bay. it's called balloon track. it can be found here: http://www.eoss.org/balsoft.htm. that page also has a link to a balloon lift calculator.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that the recovery effort is going to be pretty involved. Can you guys please begin working on the following details:

- Let's devise a schedule for the day, as detailed as possible.
- We need to know who is driving (probably me and some parents) and what vehicles we are driving.
- What is for breakfast and where can you get coffee in Roanoke?
- How are we coordinating between cars? Should everyone have maps? GPS in each car? Cell phone numbers? Do we all have cell coverage in Roanoke? Where within 200 miles of Roanoke is cell coverage bad?
- What is for lunch?
- Where exactly in Roanoke will be our launch site? A park? A soccer field?
- How will the chase vehicles will get up to date data about the balloon's location?
- Should chase vehicles be identifiable? Sirens? Magnets? Decoration?
- Do we need kayaks, wet suits, climbing gear, rope, or other things to aid in recovery?
- What am I forgetting?

thanks!
